Vin Weber, Another WIngnut Neocon Romney Adviser Humbugging About New Family Income Data
![]() | ||
| Yes, Vin, you can buy a copy of my book, but I only take cash. From you. |
A few minutes ago on Andrea Mitchell Reports, the discussion turned to the recent polls showing that President Obama is gaining strength nearly everywhere one looks. Even the fairly GOP-friendly Gallup poll now has Obama ahead by six points nationwide. Andrea's leftie guest, former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, faced off against GOP right wing former Congressman Vin Weber, and Romney economic adviser.
Weber left the House in 1992 to avoid more nastiness in the House Banking scandal where he ran up against a limit of 125 overdrawn checks. After leaving post haste from the House he still managed to

Let Us Weep & Make Sad Sounds : 4 Reasons Why Mitt's Whimpering About Fundraising Is Just More Humbug
"This is a bit of an unusual thing in that we've got the first presidential candidate in history - excuse me, since Watergate - to say he was not going to follow the federal spending limits was President Obama, in his last campaign, he's doing it this time, so to be competitive it means more fund raising than I think I would like. I'd far rather be spending my time out in the swing states campaigning door-to-door if necessary, at rallies, at various meetings, but fundraising is a part of politics when your opponent decides not to live by the federal spending limits."

Just In: They Really Will Say ANYTHING! Former New York Governor George Pataki On President Obama's Middle East Record
They really will say ANYTHING!, especially when the Romney/Ryan campaign is perceived to be in free fall, even by its own supporters and staff . . . Just 10 minutes ago on MSNBC's The Daily Rundown, former New York Governor George Pataki spoke of foreign policy as being an important issue. He should have stopped there, but added, apparently as evidence, this little gem:
"I do think foreign policy matters. Just yesterday, President Obama was on 60 Minutes

Irony Of Ironies:! Romney Releases Tax Informatiion To Distract Attention From . . . His Ill-Begotten Presidential Campaign
The Romney campaign has been under fire lately, friendly fire. Yesterday, WSJ's Peggy Noonan, a reliably stern conservative, put a shot across the campaign's bow. Today, she put one into its

They Really WILL Say Anything . . . Speaker of the House John Boehner On Romney's Videotaped Truth Telling Session
I really should post these unbelievable comments everyday. . . Earlier today Speaker of the House John Boehner emerged from hiding to announce that the farm bill would not be voted on until next year. Nothing new there. Sidestepping votes that would be considered vital on earth has become a ritual of the visiting aliens of the GOP. Of course, the Speaker had to step up to the plate and take his swing at Romney's 47%er comments. He missed.
Here's the gist of his answer:

Romney Campaign Disarray Needs "Intervention," Writes Peggy Noonan. This Chart Shows Why.
Many have wondered for a long time how it is that a professional presidential campaign organization chock full of old hands can have managed to mismanage so badly for so long. Yesterday, poor, long-suffering conservative Peggy Noonan, admirer of long gone Edmund Burke, and herself a mouthpiece for

Mitt Doubles Down On 47%er Comments, Campaign May Release New Campaign Poster. See It Here!
Mitt's found another way to take advantage of his remarkable comments about the now famous "47%ers"! Since the video went viral, Mitt's doubled down on his statements. Will it be long before we see 47%er campaign ads, bumper stickers, and posters? Click "read on" to see a poster idea I just sent along to Romney/Ryan campaign top strategist, Stuart Steven. I offered it for free, by the way . . .

Romney Secret Fundraising Video: Hear His "Concession Speech"

"There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That, that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax. . . .
[M]y job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never

Values Voter Summiteer Says Some GOP "Soul-Searching" Needed If Obama Wins
A HuffPo article about the ongoing Family Research Council "Values Voter Summit" that (dis)graced Washington D.C. last weekend quotes an entrepreneurial attendee, Mike Garner,
"a 27-year-old hawking 'Reagan was right' buttons at the meeting: 'If Romney loses this election, the party really needs to do some soul-searching.'"Below are excerpts from some of last weekend's Values Voter Summit speeches of those who would be the soul-searchers. Do they seem like soul-searchers to you? Soul searching implies, of course, a soul that has been lost; in that way, yes, they - and the largest portion of the GOP - do qualify.
Just In: Giuliani Throws Hail Mary For Team Romney, Candy Crowley Intercepts And Runs It All The Way Back!
At about 9:50 am on CNN's State of the Union, Cathy Crowley intercepted a pass from an unfortunate back-up GOP quarterback Rudy Giuliani and ran it into the endzone. The pass thrown by Mayor 9/11 was thrown deep at the probable behest of Coach Romney in an attempt to further politicize the recent embassy catastrophes by by coloring President Obama in shades of Jimmy Carter:Here's where Crowley roving in a linebacker's crouch near the line of scrimmage leapt up and with sure hands grabbed Giuliani's Hail Mary and ran it back for a touchdown:
High fives all around! Truth 7, Balderdash 0! Giuliani conceded the extra point.
P.S. I love Crowley's "Surely even you would agree . . ." If she brings this pizazz to the debate she's scheduled to moderate, well, leave the humbug home.

Four Reasons Why Romney's Statements On Libya & Egypt Attacks Are Cynical & Dishonest & Potentially Suicidal
Romney foreign policy adviser,
Robert O'Brien, September 11, 2012
@ BuzzFeed
Suddenly, Foreign Policy Is Not A "Distraction" Just a day after Romney foreign policy advisor Robert O’Brien characterized presidential campaign foreign policy issues as "a shiny object," and, "another distraction," the extent to which Mitt Romney will stoop to win the presidency on any terms whatever took another giant leap downward. Last night, before all of the

9-11, 11 Years Later: Our Fighting Men & Women, Just Plain Old "Employees" To Romney & Ryan
Perhaps the best day to consider this . . .

"No nominee for president should ever fail in the midst of a war to pay tribute to our troops overseas in his acceptance speech. Mitt Romney was talking about America. They are on the front lines every day defending America, and they deserve our thanks."

Breaking Now: In Wake Of Public Policy Poll Findings Mitt Romney Takes Credit For May 2011 bin Laden Raid
Over the past two days, Public Policy Polling released new polls about the presidential race in Ohio and North Carolina, maintaining that President Obama leads by five in Ohio, and that North Carolina remains a tossup. Interestingly, hidden in the open within these two polls is an interesting question:
"Who do you think deserves more credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden: Barack Obama or Mitt Romney?"Here's the overall results

A New Obama Campaign Poster Might Help Point Up Romney/Ryan's Bizarre Budget Arithmetic
In light of Bill Clinton's speech last night, and his blunt criticism of GOP budget arithmetic, perhaps another poster ought be added to President Obama's campaign arsenal. Here's a thought . . .
2012 DNC: The Best "Indivisible" Ever
There was Michele Obama; a certain President; a familiar Vice President; a big Big Dog called Bill Clinton; a bombastically animated former Michigan Governor, Jennifer Granholm; a young woman of extraordinary promise, Sandra Fluke; and even a nun, Sister Simone Campbell, all exceptional speech makers, all inspiring.
And then there was Gabby

Dems Convention: "Prime Minister" Bill Clinton Teaches Paul Ryan Some Budget 'Rithmetic
Former President - presently "Prime Minister" - Bill Clinton rode into the convention hall last night gunning for not merely the Romney/Ryan ticket, but for the entire 21st century version of the GOP, that Luddite Republican party that hearkens back to the 13th century, that time before double entry accounting. . . Clinton accomplished much during his time at the podium, but
